Danika Patrick Tattoo Airbrushed out of Swimsuit issue

Dude, SI is Lame! In this years Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue publishers decided to digitally remove Danica Patrick American Flag tattoo (see photo). What is the deal with that, they show nipples through shear bikini tops and painted on bikinis, but NOT an American Flag tattoo? Plus here is the kicker, Danica was in last years swimsuit issue and the tat wasn’t airbrushed out. According to The Score, “SI officials offered no explanation for the decision to remove the stars-and-stripes on Patrick’s back this year”.

The article continues: “Officials for Sports Illustrated acknowledged digitally removing Patrick’s tattoo. Patrick’s handlers said she was aware of the touch up before the photos were published and was fine with the adjustments. This is Patrick’s second consecutive year in the SI swimsuit issue. The tattoo was visible in last year’s SI photos, one of which is shown here. This isn’t the first time an athlete has had a tattoo removed in a photo. A decade ago, a photo editor controversially digitally removed a neck tattoo and earrings from a cover photo of basketball player Allen Iverson.”

The Snark sent an email our SI insider to get the scoop as to why they would do something so trivial and will get their response once they get back to me. What’s the deal anyway…tattoos are HOT, what LA chick doesn’t have one? And with America in the current state that it is, that tattoo is more poignant than ever!
